Book Fair/Grandparent Lunches
Our spring Scholastic Book Fair and grandparent lunches will take place March 8th, 9th, and 13th-16th between the hours of 8:00 AM and 2:30 PM. Grandparents, parents, or special friends may come eat lunch with their student and visit the book fair as soon. Our class’s lunch time is 11:05-11:35. Please have your child back to their activity class by 11:45. If an adult is unable to attend lunch, you may send money in with your child (cash or check payable to RBES PTO - 7% sales tax included) for your child to shop on their own (with volunteer help). Additionally, our class will have a special “shopping time” on Wednesday, March 14th from 9:00 AM until 9:30 AM. You may meet us in the library during that time to shop with your child or send in cash/check for your child to shop with a volunteer. The book fair will also be open on Tuesday, March 13th from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM for the Ice Cream Social and STEAM Night.
**Please remember that first grade will be at a field trip all day on March 15th, so we will not be able to go to the book fair or have grandparents for lunch that day.
First Grade will attend the Seussical performance in Athens on Thursday, March 15th. Please have your child to school on time if they are attending. If you noted that your child will bring a lunch from home, please send that in with them as well.
Calling All STEAMists! Tuesday, March 13 from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm, Rocky Branch will be hosting our STEAM Night, Book Fair, and Ice Cream Social. For this event, we would like to get members of our community and/or our parents to share his/her Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, or Mathematical expertise with our students. It is our goal to have you set up a station with a short activity that students and parents can rotate to throughout the night. This may be an activity from your profession or a STEAM activity that interests you. You may bring in STEAM materials from your profession to have students use, plan a short STEAM activity for students to complete, or show a short 5 minute STEAM demonstration for students.
If you are willing to participate in our STEAM night, please complete the form below. Feel free to email Angela Harris, email@example.com, with any questions.
We look forward to having you volunteer and support STEAM education!
Mrs. Hancock's 4th grade homeroom will be selling
Relay for Life "Banding Together for a Cure" bracelets beginning March 13th. Students will be selling bracelets next to the school store each morning from 7:15-7:30.
Bracelets will sell for $1 each. There will be yellow, pink, blue, purple, red, and aqua bracelets as supplies last. We have a limited number of 200 bracelets, so plan to get yours soon!
If your child hasn’t mastered this skill yet, please practice at home.
We have a ten minute snack break every morning after our Daily 5 reading block. Please send in a small, healthy (low in sugar) snack with your child every day.
