Week of May 14 - 18, 2018

Here’s a peek for the last week of school!

It is hard to believe the end of the year is here! We have many special events coming
up. Here is a brief summary of what will be happening the last week of school.

GAME and AUTOGRAPH DAY
Monday, May 14th
Students may bring in board games and puzzles from home to play with their classmates. No electronics please! Students may also bring in their yearbooks to get autographs from their friends.

READ-IN and WATER DAY
Tuesday, May 15th
Students may bring a pillow, blanket, and/or stuffed animal friend to read with.

ARTS & CRAFTS DAY (and clean up time)
Wednesday, May 16th
Students may bring coloring books, jewelry making supplies, watercolor paints, etc. Students will be cleaning out their desks and bringing their work/supplies home.  

OUTSIDE and POPSICLE/ICE CREAM DAY
Thursday, May 17th
Students may bring chalk, jump ropes, and bubbles to enjoy playing with outside.




Friday, May 18th
We have decided to have a whole grade level celebration with stations set up in each first grade classroom for students to rotate through from 8:45-11:05. After the fun stations, students will be served Raising Cane's for lunch from 11:10-11:45.

Please send in $5 (cash only) in an envelope with your child's name/End of the Year Party by Friday, May 11th. This will cover the cost of Cane's, a sweet treat, drink, chips, as well as all the other supplies we need for the stations.  
End of the Year Party Schedule
8:45-11:05- Fun Stations (Dance Party, Outdoor Activities, Bingo, Musical Chairs, Summer Snack-trail mix, and other games)
11:10-11:45- Grade Level Lunch
11:45-12:30- Activity Class
12:30-1:30- Movie
1:30-2:00- Recess

*All parents are welcome to join their child for the celebration from 8:45-lunch. Anyone volunteering to help with the party/interact with other children must have completed the volunteer training. Please remember that taking pictures and/or videos of children other than your own is not allowed.

Snack Reminders
We have a ten minute snack break every morning after our Daily 5 reading block. Please send in a small, healthy (low in sugar) snack with your child every day.

Get a Good Night's Sleep and Come to School Prepared to Work!

It is time to get ready for the end of the year celebration!  We have decided to have a whole grade level celebration with stations set up in each first grade classroom for students to rotate through from 8:45-11:05. After the fun stations, students will be served Raising Cane’s chicken tenders for lunch from 11:10-11:45.

Please send in $5 (cash only) in an envelope with your child's name/End of the Year Party by Friday, May 11th. This will cover the cost of lunch: two Raising Cane’s chicken tenders, chips, a sweet treat, and a drink.
**If your child would not like to eat chicken tenders, please plan to pack them a lunch from home.

Field Day
K-2 will have field day on May 10th. This is an all day event and includes water activities. Please send your child to school wearing sunscreen. They will also need an extra change of clothes (including shoes and undergarments).

Field Day Parent Spectator Section
Parents who would like to watch a few events are welcome to sit in the designated spectator section (similar to the DASH spectator section). Parents are asked to sign in at the front office. You will be directed to the spectator section and we request you do not leave that area.

If your child hasn’t mastered this skill yet, please practice at home.

Snack Reminders

help you stock up for your kiddos’ summer reading.

Follow the instructions to place your order online by: April 30th.
2. Check off the books you want to order for your child via the flyer in your child’s daily

We are excited to be selling t-shirts for our 2018 Field Day! All proceeds will go towards funding field day and new P.E. equipment.
