A Peek at Next Week (8/10-8/14)

What a
great first week! We've had fun getting to know each other and working hard to learn classroom routines/procedures. I can already tell we are going to have a great year together!

Here’s a peek at next week:

Spelling words: at, hat, bad, an, ran, sat, had, am, can, that

We will have our first spelling test on Friday. The expectation is for students to be able to spell AND apply the spelling/phonics pattern for the week. In addition to the ten words listed above, we will have two mystery words that follow the same phonics pattern ( short a words this week). You will also notice a dictation sentence on the test.  I will read a sentence aloud that contains a spelling word for the student to write. Dictation sentences give me the opportunity to model complete sentences for students to write and to check your child's spelling and sentence structure.
