The Growing Mound
of Lost and Found
As we've had spurts
of cooler weather, we have started seeing the Lost and Found Mound growing again. Please
ask your child to look through Lost and Found for any lost items. If you
are planning to join us for our Thanksgiving Feast,
please take the time to look through Lost and Found while you are here. It will
be organized to help you look so you don't have to search The Mound!
Also, please help
by putting your child's name in all jackets,
sweatshirts, or sweaters that he/she wears to school (lunchboxes and water
bottles, too). We really do look for names and will return them to your
child IF the item has a name in it. Items in good condition left in the
Lost and Found before Thanksgiving break are sold at a consignment store and
the proceeds go to RBES Secret Santa or counseling needs that arise throughout
the school year.
At Rocky Branch, our
focus is on finding solutions to
our problems. We have been
learning some techniques: ignore it, talk it over respectfully with the
person, try to agree on a win-win solution, or get help from the teacher. We
are working to be problem solvers by
using a wheel of choice that we
are creating as a class and to share our thoughts with each other during class
meetings. We have created bonds by sharing strategies that have worked in the
past.
Six Flags Read to
Succeed
Your child was sent
home with a Six Flags Read to Succeed Student Reading Log. Keep track of your
child’s reading with this log to qualify for a free ticket to Six Flags Over
Georgia. Students must read and log 6 hours. Reading logs are due to Mrs. Ashley by February 10th, but may be turned in sooner if at least 6 hours
are completed. I will distribute tickets in the spring when they arrive at
school. Happy Reading!
CAN-A-THON at RBES
Thank you for your generous donations to help feed our community
through our annual Can-a-Thon!
Snack Reminders
-Please send a healthy
snack {low in sugar} to school with your child every day (no nuts, please).
